Aura Vol. I
From the Founder: A Curated Playlist & Personal Note
Why a playlist, you might ask?
I couldn’t think of a better way to invite you into the world of Auryana — and the moments and memories that inspired it. This brand was born on the dance floor, a space I love just as much as I love music, art, and style.
Music has always been part of my life’s rhythm. It started with my grandfather who had a deep love for music and a serious sound system to match. I have very vivid memories of visiting him - he would be seated on his forest green lazy boy while music filled room, humming with energy. It was a vibe.
My mom inherited her father’s love for music. Her CD collection was legendary – En Vogue, Anita Baker, Meshell Ndegeocello, and everything in between. I would raid her rack, sneak off to my room, and spend hours getting lost in my own private concerts and dance parties.
My dad. He too loved music. Before he passed, he shared with me how much he admired my grandfather’s taste in music. Some of my favorite memories are cruising in my dad's red Mustang GT — Maxwell and Ginuwine blasting through the stereo. Artists and sounds that defined an era. I’d ask him to go fast, just for the thrill of it. You could hear the car, and the music, from a mile away.
So much of this brand is rooted in movement, memory and energy. I couldn’t think of a better way to share Auryana’s soul than through the music that shaped mine.
